April 8, 2024 Total Solar Eclipse

Located directly in the path of totality for the April 8th, 2024 total solar eclipse, Johnson County will host many visitors from throughout the country to witness this rare event.  While we look forward to the opportunity to showcase just how great Johnson County and its communities are, there will be a significant increase in traffic throughout the weekend.  Everyone should be prepared for longer travel times during all commutes throughout the weekend and into Tuesday, April 9th.

 

There is currently only one preemptive closure planned on the County-maintained road network, which is CR 625 West / Smokey Row Road both north and south of CR 144 in Bargersville.  A press release with information about this closure can be found here.
